Marriage and civil partnership is a protected characteristic referring to both heterosexual and same-sex couples who are legally married or have entered into a civil partnership. It does not protect people who are single, divorced, widowed or have dissolved their civil partnerships. SGUL will not discriminate against students because they are married or in a civil partnership.
