The University of Nicosia Medical School (UNMS) announces the organisation of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) seminar at the UNMS in Cyprus, between 10th and 12th of November 2017.

The aim of the ECNP seminar is to provide an interactive training course for future leading scientists in neuropsychopharmacology. Focused every year on a different European country, it offers participants from that country the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in a concentrated learning environment with local and international experts.

Between 30 and 50 participants attend, selected on the basis of their curricula vitae and abstracts of case studies, research projects or topic that they would like to discuss. The participants are recently graduated psychiatrists or researchers who have shown an interest in neuro-psychopharmacology and would like to expand their knowledge.

The seminar consists of one-hour, interactive presentations by 3 experts and 3 parallel workshops in which the participants must give a short presentation allowing ample time for discussion with the experts. The last part of the seminar includes presentations of the outcome of the discussion in the workshops in front of the assembly, getting feedback from the audience and the experts.

The main focus of the seminar is on research questions related to clinical trials. The topics the experts will present are:

”Placebo Effect of Drugs’’

‘’The challenge of Treating Bipolar Depression’’

‘’The Role of CBT in Improving Medication Compliance in Schizophrenic Patients’’
